Maddie started at ESG in May 2023 as a summer student. She returned again in the summer of 2024 and started a full-time position in June 2025 after completing her undergraduate degree with a specialization in Geological Sciences at Queen's University.
Maddie's coursework throughout her undergraduate degree focused on environmental geology, hydrogeochemistry and geographic information management. She completed an Honours thesis in geochemistry with a focus on the behaviour of the rare earth elements in groundwater around epithermal gold deposits. Maddie now applies her knowledge in geochemistry to her work on contaminated sites. Her current work involves conducting field work including groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediment sampling, as well as producing comprehensive reports that relay field findings.
Outside of work Maddie enjoys yoga, reading, hiking, and rock climbing.
