Queen’s University Student Internship

Open to Queen’s Students in 3rd year biology or chemistry, this 16-month position involves extensive field work under the supervision of one of ESG’s environmental scientists, as well as data analysis and report writing. Application period opens in January every year.

Environmental Biologist

We are looking for an environmental scientist to bring biology knowledge to applied projects. The position includes field work at remote sites and travel within Canada for extended stays of 1-2 weeks; data analysis, report writing, and virtual and in-person meetings with sponsors and stakeholders. Previous work experience (1-3 years) in any of the following is an advantage: terrestrial and/or aquatic ecology, environmental management for Species at Risk and invasive alien species, ecotoxicology, contaminated sites investigation, and/or environmental monitoring.

Scientist/Engineer (Junior or Intermediate)

ESG’s entry-level position is open to anyone with a BSc and an interest in the environmental field. Under the supervision of one of ESG’s environmental scientists or engineers, the position involves extensive field work – sample collection, sample management, and/or surveying - often at remote locations, and requires a willingness to travel within Canada for multiple extended stays of up to 2 weeks. Outside of field work, the position involves assisting with data analysis, report writing, and planning.
