Jennifer has more than 30 years of engineering and technical writing experience. She has a BScE in engineering chemistry (1992) and a BA in modern literature (1998), both from Queen’s University, and she has been a licenced professional engineer since 1998.
Jennifer's career in environmental engineering was launched at ESG: from 1993 until 2006, she primarily worked on the DEW Line Cleanup project, conducting extensive field work to assess the environmental status of the sites during the early years of that program. She then spent eight years in environmental consulting in the private sector, working on projects in waste management, mining industry environmental management, northern contaminated sites, and projects with First Nations. All of those roles included extensive technical writing experience (including supporting documentation, reports, and review and editing of reports prepared by others) and project management. Her focus gradually shifted into technical writing, editing and proposal development in the environmental field, and she also taught environmental engineering and technical writing for 10 years at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. Jennifer rejoined ESG part-time in 2018, where she now provides technical and editorial reviews of projects, and develops reporting and communication strategies.
Jennifer works from home. She loves the creativity of writing and editing, and is glad to be back at ESG.
